Personal Sustainability: Abandoning the Myth of Work Life Balance

This program invites participants to examine their personal “sustainability.”  Throwing out the old concept of “work/life balance,” our facilitators connect participants with a new and dynamic approach to living and working. Attendees will take a brief personal sustainability quiz, which covers the domains of life that are relevant to sustaining one's mind, body, emotions, spirit, finances and relationship with the world.

    Take-aways:

    • New distinctions about the relationship between self-care and peak performance
    • A clear and personal focus on the aspects of your life that need priority and attention
    • Strategies and tactics for managing and improving your energy
    • Resources to help you continue to explore personal sustainability

    Leading for Sustainability

Today's leaders are being called to a larger vision of success and the vision includes leadership from wherever and whoever you are. The goal is more than the very important, near-term financial bottom line. Looking back and ahead, the key is leading the way to an intimate understanding of the inter-relationship of our lives, local communities and businesses to the planet's vital, limited resources and people around the globe. Developing that understanding today leads to decisions and actions that improve lives, businesses and communities tomorrow. Our workshops for leaders help you lead the way.

    Take-aways:

    • Seeing the opportunities presented by creating a culture of sustainability
    • Stepping into your role as a leader, in a support of results measured by their impact on people, planet, profit and place
    • Focusing on leadership for the long haul - ensuring your personal sustainability
    • New approaches to leadership, life, community and business designed to reach sustainability goals

    Coaching for Sustainability

Leadership and life coaches who are committed to creating a more sustainable, compassionate planet, are faced with many of the same challenges that their clients face when they think about how they can make a difference. People are so overwhelmed with the message of doom and gloom, they push environmental truths out of their minds with the immediate demands of their lives. This series of workshops will add new distinctions and practical ways for coaches to bring their skills and expertise forward to contribute to creating a more sustainable planet

    Take-aways:

    • Discover your own role in leading for sustainability
    • Insights into the behaviors leading to today's challenges
    • Aligning visions to ensure a sustainable future
    • Ways to support sustainability through coaching

Leading from Sufficiency Rather Than Scarcity

Times are challenging and evidence of “not enough” is all around us. However, leaders who operate from fear-based thinking rarely create the results they are aiming for.  Inspired by the work of humanist and global leader and fundraiser for The Hunger Project, Lynne Twist, this workshop will connect you with another way of looking at your challenges. We will shift the paradigm from scarcity to sufficiency, teaching you distinctions that can change your life and your leadership. The Soul of Money by Lynne Twist is required reading for this program, which can also be offered as a reading circle or book group series.

    Take-aways:

    • A new paradigm for leading, working and living
    • A fresh approach to meeting your challenges
    • Practices for supporting sufficiency as a mindset
    • An action plan for work and life based on sufficiency exercises experienced in the workshop

    Team Building for Sustainability

Individuals make a powerful difference. Effectively combining the individual strengths, creativity, knowledge and passion of people, leads to a high-performing team dedicated to achieving sustainability goals. We build a foundation for teamwork through exploring team goals, appreciating individual contributions and roles, developing processes that guide the team from vision to accomplishments, and creating an understanding of how team interactions contribute to realizing the team's sustainability goals. Additional workshops provide the knowledge and tools to assess the sustainability of your work site, products and processes; make the necessary cost-effective changes; and measure results.

    Take-aways:

    • New distinctions for understanding effective team work
    • Greater understanding of your teams strengths and weaknesses
    • Goal and team alignment
    • Insights into each team member's contribution to the effort
    • Ways to approach and ensure the sustainability of your team and your efforts
