Nebo Supports Women Volunteers of the Girl Scouts

7/15/2010

Kate Ebner and Jan Kearce were pleased to present two workshops at Camp White Rock in Capon Bridge, West Virginia to the women volunteers who lead the Girls Scouts National Capital Chapter. The workshops helped anchor the programming for a "getaway" weekend for hardworking volunteers that included camping, canoeing, learning and community.

The first workshop, "Personal Sustainability:Moving Beyond the Myth of Work/Life Balance," introduced Nebo's Resilience Model and showed participants how to let go of the struggle to achieve "work/life balance" in favor of more sustainable and achievable practices. The second program, "Busy People: Learning How to Work Smarter, Not Harder" focused on how to work strategically rather than reactively. Based on Nebo's Leverage Model, the workshop explored prioritization, time management, use of resources, and management of personal energy.

Girl Scouts leaders were highly engaged in the programs and came away with strategies and tools to use when they returned to the "real world" on Sunday. Kate and Jan were amazed to meet women with 30 years and more of experience and dedication to the Girl Scouts. Nebo is committed to the advancement of women as leaders.
