Kate Ebner and Bette George to present at the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Conference
7/12/2010
On July 16th, Kate Ebner and Bette George will present at Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching Conference. Their topic is Staying in Shape to Coach: Coaching as a Journey of Becoming Oneself.
At Georgetown's Leadership Coaching certificate program, coaches learn how important it is to be “in shape” to coach. During the six-month leadership coaching course, coaches practice pausing, learning a new body practice, journaling, and reflecting on their experiences with core coaching competencies. What happens after coaches leave the Leadership Coaching program? How does a coach continue to stay at the edge of learning and growth? What does it mean to adopt “in shape to coach” as a lifelong imperative?
Kate Ebner and Bette George are excited to share their exploration of the journey of becoming oneself through coaching. Kate and Bette will share briefly their personal
journeys since graduating from the program. They will identify numerous
strategies and tactical ways to accept the challenge of staying “in shape to
coach.” Through live coaching exercises in the classroom, participants will
reflect on their own journeys and will be invited to set a course for continued
learning and growth. Participants will come away with a heightened awareness
of where they are in their journey of becoming, where they’d like to go next,
and how to begin going there.
