| Explore _______________________________What is possible for you? What's out there that you don't know about - but could use or benefit from? Most likely, you've been focused on your current path and not
thinking about anything else that might be possible for you. The invitation to explore is an invitation to let go of your everyday way of thinking and open yourself up to new ideas and experiences. As an explorer, your job is to travel on new ground, paying attention to what you are seeing, feeling, and experiencing. You do not need to make any decisions or even pass judgment as you look around. The purpose of exploration is to learn. If someone asked you what you
would do if you had more time or money, what would you say? The answer to this question might be a good place from which to begin your exploration. Here are some good exploratory questions to get you started, along with a list of resources to aid you. Writing Exercises | | - A Fresh Look at My Life and Possibilities
What
would I like to change in my life? What would be different for me if I made those changes? How do others with similar challenges handle this situation? What resources do they use? How do they manage their time? How do they think about this challenge? How did they choose the strategy that they are using?

- My Next Five Years
If I could do anything I wanted during the next five years, I would.. (List what you would do.) Now, begin gathering information about each of the top three ideas. What would you need to do to prepare? How much would it cost? Who might join you? What learning is needed to make this a viable option? (Remember not to rule out your options. You are learning and do not need to be practical at this
stage.)

What does a "more balanced" life mean to me? How would it be different than today? What requests would I have to make in order to live that life? What other changes would be needed? Is it possible within my current situation?

- Make a work of art that represents what you care most about. You can paint, photograph, draw, sculpt, model, sew, glue - whatever is most enjoyable for you. Incorporate your values into the work and complete it within one month of beginning it.
- Go for a walk or hike.
- Visit a new
place. You might walk in the forest or visit a museum or attend a lecture or performance. Try something quite different that takes you out of your normal routine.
- Have a new conversation with an old friend. Invite a friend to join you for a cup of coffee or lunch and brainstorm with you about the future or share thoughts about values and how they come into play in your lives. Capture the ideas in writing and just see what happens. Since
exploration is about learning, see if you can learn something new about your friend while in the process of this conversation.
- Take a long look at yourself in the mirror. See if you can look with objectivity, noticing the hairstyle that you choose, the clothing that you wear, etc. Now, experiment. Try a different color, a new style, a different way of presenting yourself. Explore the possibilities of your physical self and ask yourself - what else is
possible for me in this body?
- Choose a learning opportunity. Would you like to learn about another culture or language? Is there something that you have wanted to learn about to strengthen your skills?
- Do something new with your body. Allow yourself to try something new in the realm of the body. Sign up for yoga, Pilates, aikido, tai chi. Get a massage. One of the best ways to uncover new learning is by rediscovering
the strength, beauty and usefulness of the body.
