kebner0405 Katherine Ebner is the founder and president of NEBO, the leadership and organizational development firm based in Washington, D.C. Katherine started the company in response to the increasing demand in the workplace for highly qualified, seasoned leadership coaches whose skills and experiences fit with the requirements of the workplace.

Drawing from more than twenty years of experience, Katherine knows how the effectiveness of a leader can make or break an organization's ability to deliver on its mission. First as a change leader at Middlebury College in the 1990's and then as Chief People Officer at Kaiser Associates, an international strategy consulting firm, Katherine has worked side by side with people at all levels to make change happen successfully. Katherine's clients have the benefit of her insight and experience -- the perspective of someone who has led major organizational and cultural changes personally and knows the hardships and best practices of this leadership work.

Typically, Katherine's coaching clients are leaders who are making transitions personally and professionally and who face big challenges. They are committed to making positive change happen in their lives and organizations. Katherine frequently works with senior executives in Fortune 500 corporations, professional services firms, mid-size organizations, entrepreneurs and educators.

An avid reader and creative writer, Katherine encourages creativity and exploration of new ideas. She introduces herself as a partner to her clients and “walks along with” her clients as they tackle the goals that they bring to the coaching. Her approach models appreciative inquiry to allow clients to do the hard and important work of self-discovery, learning, and practicing new behaviors that lead to transformation in leadership and life. She provides a wealth of resources to clients as appropriate to the client’s coaching agenda to support learning and growth.

Katherine Ebner earned certification as a leadership coach from the innovative leadership coaching program at Georgetown University where she is now a member of the faculty. She has completed the Gateway Developmental Coaching Program of Otto Laske’s Interdevelopmental Institute and has been trained on team coaching through Cynder Niemela’s “High Impact Teams” program. An honors graduate of Middlebury College, Katherine has also completed graduate work at the Bread Loaf School of English. She is a member of the International Coaches Federation and other professional organizations that support lifelong learning.
